NCPA's first big theatre production for 2020 is the retelling of Agatha Christie's popular novel, The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side, which has been adapted for the stage by Rachel Wagstaff and reimagined for an Indian audience by Ayeesha Menon.

Chairman of the NCPA, Mr. Khushroo N. Suntook, feeling proud, says "The NCPA is delighted to be producing this celebrated production of The Mirror Crack'd, but with an utterly original Indian flavour. This new Indian interpretation is a great example of our ambition for NCPA productions: creating innovative content in collaboration with the very best artists here in India as well as on the international scene.

Adding his thoughts, creative producer Pádraig Cusack says, "It's very thrilling to be working on a classic Agatha Christie novel, transposing it to India, collaborating with a whole range of incredible artists from India and the UK to create an utterly unique interpretation of this marvellous 'whodunnit' story.

Melly Still, who created the original production in the UK, was brought on board to direct the production for Indian audiences. She was in Mumbai for the cast auditions and is thrilled to work with Indian actors. She shared, "I'm thrilled to be working in Mumbai with an extraordinary group of Indian actors and artists to create an Indian version of this wonderful Agatha Christie whodunnit which I hope will have both the Christie fans as well as new audiences keen for an intriguing thriller on the edge of their seats, trying to second guess every twist and turn of this cleverly plotted story."

The production is in collaboration with the Wales Millennium Centre and Wiltshire Creative.

Mathew Milsom, Managing Director of Wales Millennium Centre, shared, "We aim to make innovative and entertaining work that showcases Wales to the world, and which fires the imagination of the audience. Our productions have already toured to Africa, America and Australia and I'm thrilled that our next stop is Asia, working in collaboration with the NCPA to give this classic British thriller an exciting and original Indian twist."

Gareth Machin, Artistic Director of Wiltshire Creative, added, "We are delighted that our production of this Agatha Christie classic will be enjoyed by audiences in Mumbai and hope they will be enthralled by its clever plot twists as much as UK audiences have been."

THE MIRROR CRACK'D is lined up for a long run of shows from 30th January to 9th February 2020 at the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre at the NCPA.

Tickets: Rs.5500, Rs. 4500, Rs.4000, Rs. 3500, Rs.2000, Rs. 1500 & Rs. 1000/- (Including GST)
