Last year, Shakuntalam studio (one of the city's bigger Postproduction studios) started a new venture in theatre, naming it ''Shakuntalam Theatre''. Its mini auditorium caters to audiences in the Western suburbs. Since its foundation the theatre has staged various plays. To mark its one-year completion, the Film Television and Theatre Institute (Mumbai) and Shakuntalam Theatre have organised a theatre festival.
The performers will present great Indian and international writers like Premchand, Satyajit Ray, Rabindranath Tagore, Surendra Verma, Fyodor Dostoyevsky and Anton Chekhov.
