PEER GYNT

Ila Arun has been organising a theatre festival dedicated to the famous Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen since 4 years.

This year she was invited to the Lillehammer Literature Festival where along with noted Norwegian actor Kare Conradi, she performed scenes from PEER GYNT on the occasion of celebrating 150 years of the play.

The festival, which opened at G5A, moves to Prithvi Theatre from September 21st to 24th September 2017.

As part of the festival, a seminar has also been planned. The seminar will focus on the adaptation and translation of Ibsen and Ibsen's letters will also be read. The main speakers at the seminar include Astri Ghosh and Frode Helland.

Astri Ghosh is a writer and translator who has translated Ibsen into Hindi. Frode Helland is Professor of Scandinavian Literature at the University of Oslo and Director of the Centre for Ibsen Studies.
