Swatantra Theatre, based in Pune, Maharashtra, offers specialized theatre workshops for children aged 6 to 15. These workshops focus on developing acting skills, leadership qualities, self-expression, and voice training.
Theatre is a journey which enriches young children right from social skills to developing leadership skills, being efficient in communication and effectively working with the spirit of teamwork. The program culminates in a professional stage performance.
Swatantra Theatre brings to you the most loved Children Theatre Program this summer.
As we all know Theatre is taking a new dimension and has with research and study proved that it can help young minds to creatively inspire and sparks critical thinking.
Our areas of training include, voice, body language, Techniques of acting- including Characterisation, Navrasa, Bhava Rasa Theory made to understand through different types of Theatrical Games, Writing skills for vocabulary and imagination and introduction to Indian Literature. Children perform in scene work, improvisations and snippets based on the writer's works including short stories, poems, novels and plays.
And at the end of the program Children perform in Swatantra's Children Theatre Festival based on their favourite writers' works that they have explored in the sessions. Under the guidance of the experts Children also learn and give their inputs and work in different departments like the set making, costume designing, stage makeup, lights designing and background music. This gives them a complete experience of learning and doing Theatre. We also do character photoshoot for the posters and hoardings of the play
At Swatantra our aim is to connect more and more children to the beauty of live art. In times of technology, multiple distractions and cut throat competition, Theatre can be stress relieving, also it opens a new gateway for expression, it gives a liberating experience and recharges the batteries of energy level. In times where mobiles, Ipads have taken over young lives, Theatre can definitely help by cultivating cultural awareness and finding their own area of interests.

vaishali 21 May 2018--
One more feather in cap. Its awesome to see the little ones performing flawlessly on stage. So much of learning for kids at each step. A power packed summer vacation with lots of fun and learning - compassion, respect, team building, hard work, discipline..... Its actually grooming them to be good human beings. Thank you so much Yuraj Sir, Abhijit Sir, Dhanashree Ma`am and the entire Swatantra team. You guys rock.
Sunil Koloti 21 May 2018-
Swatantra Theatre is one of the best theatre groups in Pune, where my daughter has learned and gained lot of knowledge on how to hold the stage, lead from the front, how acting needs to be done and get into the character and give the best of the result. She has been going last two seasons and has picked up good skills and self development with the nuances on working as performing actor. She performed in two stage show ``Akbar ke Birbal`` and ``Bhikre Moti``. ...
Nallini Prasad - 6 Jun 2017-
The lethal combo of passion and compassion defines SWATANTRA THEATRE. It is a life school in itself. The kids workshop which started for 2 hours for 5 days a week for 4 weeks, has turned to 8 hours in a single day. In this materialistic and so called professional world, YES! Swatantra exists. When parents come to pick their kids at 9:30pm, I have not heard a child complaining of the long working tired day. But, an enthusiasm to ask their mentors, what time is the class tomorrow? Kids from age group 5 to 9
