A Musical Comedy, An Adaptation of Dario Fo's, Can't Pay? Won't Pay!
Originally written by the Nobel Prize winning playwright in 1974 after he became inspired by the self reduction movement which saw working class Italian women take what they wanted from supermarkets only paying what they could afford.
The play centres on a spontaneous demonstration by housewives against rising prices at the local supermarket. Crazy disasters pile on top of each other as two of them try to cope with the results of their own actions - without telling their husbands what they have been up to.
It has been performed more than thousands times around the globe by different theatre companies. It is considered a political farce and a COMEDY about consumer backlash against high prices.
A play which tickles while provoking you at the same time.
