‘TUGHLAQ’ is one of the most iconic Indian plays written by Shri Girish Karnad. Mystic Acts and LP Academy are performing a Hindustani adaptation of the play.
The unique thing about this adaptation is that all actors will be performing online from the comfort of their homes. The blocking of the play is done in a way so as to give an illusion to the viewers that all the actors are in the same physical space.

The audience is welcome to be a part of this one-of-a-kind experiment which aims to provide them the joy and excitement of watching a play in an auditorium on their mobile phone/laptop.
Tughlaq was one of the kings who ruled Delhi Sultanate from 1325-1351.The play is set during the reign of Muhammad bin Tughlaq. He started his rule with great ideals for a unified India but his ideas degenerated into anarchy.
Muhammad Bin Tughlaq was known as a mixture of opposites as he made his decisions at the wrong time and changed them when it was too late. His plan of token currency emptied the state treasury. His plan of increasing state revenue through increase in taxation brought ruin to the farmers.
His project of change of capital from Delhi to Daultabad brought immense hardship to the people and did not materialize.
The play throws light on such incidents during his reign and the challenges he faced in overcoming it.
