Amidst a society filled with pointless conversations, fake laughter, motiveless chit-chat and
hopeless flirtations, Asamanjas Babu tells the story of his life, and his dog. This design of the play is inspired by clowning. A preview of this play will be showcased.
2nd Story, Ranganayaki
Ranganayaki is a story about dreams and the love and feeling of being on stage. The narrative is brought to the audience by Ramesh Benaraswala, a simple storyteller from the depths of Varanasi, who tells a story about Mokshagundhum Rao urf Ranganayak. His fame in his village is like none other, and his ambition grows to want to become a movie star. Mumbai is his aim, but life doesn`t pan out the same, and he ends up giving up acting and is forced to take up a job as a security guard. Ranganayak and his daughter live day to day until the day when he gets another chance to prove himself. Can he do it? Can Ranganayak become the `Star` he always wanted to be, or does life have different plans? Inspired by Satyajit Ray`s `Patolbabu Superstar,` Ranganayaki is a narrative told through music that captures drama, emotional, and comedic emotions through the lens of the 1970s.
