The Indian drama and Entertainment Academy (IDEA)�s play is based on the stories of the famous Hindi writer, Munshi Premchand. The stories adapted from the writer�s work are as follows: �Apne Fun Ka Ustaad�, �Mashaal-e-Hidayat�, �Nok Jhonk�, �Panchayat� and �Pachtatva�.

Premchand�s work has often been dramatized for as Amit Rai a biographer puts it: �Premchand created the genre of the serious novel and the serious short story in two languages, Hindi and Urdu.� In IDEA�s adaptation of the stories, a sutradhar (narrator) recount the life and times of the writer Premchand while providing biographical information about each story before it is performed.
