Lavani, an ancient art form of Maharashtra has been popular through mainstream media. But, the portrayal of this art form is reduced to a mere item number. Lavani ke Rang gives a glimpse into the various types and styles of this art form. It also highlights the lives of traditional Lavani artists who come from matriarchal communities. The play is anchored by a Lavani theatre malkin who orients the audience about their lifestyle, their systems and their world. The play also celebrates many colors of life through traditional and modern Lavani performances. This is our continuing effort at creating a platform for the Lavani woman to tell us her story
