Set against the backdrop of the 20th-century feudalistic zamindari system, ‘Century Buddha’ is a satirical comical tale of Bancharam a farmer in his 90s, who's life has been dedicated to ploughing, sowing and upkeeping his beloved garden.
But as every tale comes with twists and turns so does Bancha's.
Not only his own grandson, but almost the entire village including the ghost of previous zamindar are after Bancha's beloved land.
At the age of 95, when Bancha is living his last days, Zamindar Naukaudi comes up with an agreement to pay him a measly monthly income of 200 rupees on a special condition. What is this agreement? Will Bancha be able to save his land? With so many people waiting to benefit from his death, how long will he survive?
