Gubbare, a fun-filled musical, dramatizes delightful stories of classic writers like Oscar Wilde, O Henry, Leonard Merrick, and Katherine Mansfield and adapts them to the Indian cultural context. The stories appearing in the play are marked with signature surprise endings and are peopled with motley characters: there are two rival actors from a natak mandli who do role play in real life to outsmart the other; a scary ghost who finds himself getting scared and bossed around by a crazy family; two goofy tapori goons whose plan of kidnapping backfires in the most absurd way and a pessimist girl who is caught amidst wedding shenanigans. Gubbare is a family entertainer that can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike
