GHAR AUR HUM Story :

GHAR AUR HUM is a new and original monodrama, written and directed by Adamya Gaur. A heartfelt storytelling special written as rhythmic prose, the play is a nostalgic tribute to relations we make with places and people as we grow up, and grow out of our villages, cities, and country, when they fail to contain our ambitions anymore. An ode to the journey of boyhood innocence to the manhood maturity, GHAR AUR HUM traces different stages of life; from first friendships, fading memories of hometown, to forlorn fatherhood and beyond.

A socially pertinent, and thought-provoking ode to people, who had to reluctantly leave their towns and villages for the alleged ‘better life’, the monodrama is an ironical and bittersweet odyssey of struggles, tacit vulnerabilities, and lifelong companionship that every generation experiences.

GHAR AUR HUM is a melancholic tale of efforts put forth by each one of us to be different and better than the previous generation and yet somehow ending up exactly like them. It is a humane and humble attempt to showcase that all of us are just one big family, and all we can do is make each other feel more at home.
