Evam Indrajit, a seminal play, presents the theme of existential angst wherein fear, frustration, despair, isolation and anxiety are the pivotally important experiences of modern Indian educated middle class youth. This play is the story of every mediocre individual. The play is about the predicament of modern man, effectively delineated through half a dozen characters namely, Amal, Vimal, Kamal, Indrajit, Mansi and the Writer. The play unfolds at two levels. On the one hand it deals with the writer's dilemma of creativity. On the other hand, the play discusses the boredom and monotony of life as experienced by the urban middle class youth and exemplified through the characters of Amal, Vimal, Kamal and Indrajit.
