BHOR

BHOR

By MTG editorial

Anamika Gautam`s play, Bhor is set in the land of Hastinapur, focusing specifically on the aftermath of Kurukshetra.

The women, both inside and outside the palace, are mourning the deaths of the men in the lives, their past & are fearful of a future that seems dark at the moment.

The war has robbed them of men, money & resources and there isn`t much left to sustain on.

Someone needs to do something and soon.

Who would be the someone and what would they do?

As the women of Mahabharata, across class (the queens and maids alike), grieve their losses in their own particular ways - they begin to look inwards.

They begin asking questions, seeking answers

and mending relationships that never had the chance to properly form due to their former roles.

Through the play, the women of Maharabharata write their own narrative on their own terms and begin a new journey that serves their growth, their bond and independence.

To witness the coming together of iconic women in unprecedented times as individuals and as a community.

To witness the beginning of a new era where women write their own narratives and emerge as empowering leaders and changemakers
