BADE BHAI SAHAB (ANIL SHARMA) Story :

What’s the role of an elder brother in one’s life? Should he be seen as a bully or friend and guide? Can the advantage of more number of years alone justify his claim of respect? In the play the elder brother, a student of class ninth, studying in a boarding school away from his village, is joined by his brother many years and class younger to him. The elder brother having lofty aspirations for his young sibling strictly monitors him. The younger brother peevishly obeys the commands of his brother, mostly out of fear. But while the elder brother has failed consecutively for two years in the same class, the younger one has performed very well; so much so that he foresees sharing his brother’s class soon, and as such thinks that he has deposed his elder brother of his status ad authority to admonish him. However, after a touching recount, the enormity of the sincerity and sacrifice of the elder brother dawns upon the younger brother who recalls it with great sense of realization as the drama unfolds in a package of witty and hilarious but very touching and riveting theatre adoption of Munshi Premchand’s famous short story - "BADE BHAI SAHAB".
