SAAHAB

SAAHAB is Shekhar Sen's fourth and much anticipated, hindi musical, after his highly successful trilogy of saint biographies, TULSI, KABIR and VIVEKANANDA. Like his other three musical mono-acts, SAAHAB has also been written, directed, composed and performed by Shekhar Sen. In this new musical, Shekhar Sen tells a story about a boy from a small town and his journey through life which ultimately leads to success. The style is entertaining, conversational, and is told in today's language. As the story unfolds it is revealed that the boy is motherless, so he imbibes all his values from his father. The boy is nostalgic about his melodious childhood and the deep bond he shared with his father.

SAAHAB then takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride through his teens and youth. The play also takes its music to a new dimension with a medley of styles ranging from folk, ghazal, geet, bhajan, kirtan, qawalli, khayal and even tappa!
