Gomti Goradia is a 50 year old widow. She is a social worker who lives alone in her bungalow. She is well read, well spoken and warm.
Her dressing and behaviour is with the times - she is a modern woman. She has a dog, a turtle, a squirrel, a rabbit and some birds as pets. A girl named Manjri stays with her. She is the caretaker. She is a student and she gives tuition and she also looks after the pets.
Gomti is soon faced with a challenge but is able to solve it. There are happy endings for all in the play. The play is about thinking positive and living life happily in the face of all odds- just as the title suggests.
