Waves is a solo theatre work written and performed by theatre-maker and performer Alice Mary Cooper. It is the story of young Australian woman, Elizabeth Moncello, daughter of immigrants, and unofficial inventor of the Butterfly stroke.
Combining new writing, storytelling, movement and humour, Waves is the tale of Elizabeth and how, growing up on Gabo Island, Australia in the 1930’s, she developed ‘the Dolphin’.
Elizabeth’s determination, wit and courage help her defy the tide of expectation and discover her hidden strengths. It is a funny, moving, absorbing, and intimate theatrical event for children and adults aged 8 and over.
