Set in 1938, Austria, THE SOUND OF MUSIC is based on the memoir of Maria Von Trapp. Maria, a tomboyish postulant at an Austrian abbey, who causes the abbey trouble, is sent off to be a governess in the home of a widowed naval captain Von Trapp and his seven troublesome children. Maria teaches them to sing and captain Von Trapp to love, which brings a new life of love and music into the home. But what happens when the Nazis invade Austria and the whole family is forced to flee to safety?
