Prithvi Theatre introduces Wintertime @Prithvi...Plays and workshops...

For more than 20 years, Prithvi Theatre, has successfully hosted Summertime @Prithvi. This includes workshops and a showcase of exciting plays for young adults.
For the first time, the venue will host Wintertime @Prithvi.
Summertime @Prithvi is aimed at exposing the world of theatre to children and awakening their creativity. We have received many requests from parents to hold similar activities during other holidays as well," says Kunal Kapoor, trustee of Prithvi Theatre. He further adds, "So this year during the Christmas/New Year holidays Prithvi is conducting Wintertime@Prithvi Season of plays and workshops for the youth with an exciting week long line-up."
The line-up of plays include:
25th December, Friday, 12pm and 4pm: JAMES AUR EK GIANT PEACH, directed by Gagan Riar.
About the play: James Henry Trotter's parents have been eaten up by a rhinoceros, so now he lives with his two repulsive aunts. One hot day something peculiar happens and an enormous peach grew in their garden. Soon James and the Giant peach are rolling away from his horrible aunts, towards a wonderful place.
26th December, Saturday, 12pm and 4pm: WOLF, directed by Trishla Patel.
About the play: What happens when a bunch of city kids on a field trip come to a tribal village where a child has gone missing? Do they take part in the hunt or try to solve the mystery on their own. Experience their adventure through the eyes of the wolf!
27th December, Sunday, 12pm and 4pm: JHUMRU MEETS JHUMRI, directed by Nadira Zaheer Babbar.
About the play: Jhumru meets Jhumri... He wants to be friends with her. Is it possible? Why not? A lion cub and a baby deer can never be friends? Or can they?
29th December, Tuesday, 12pm, 4pm and 7pm: CONFERENCE OF BIRDS, directed by Heeba Shah.
About the play: The Conference of the Birds "Parindon Ki Mehfil" is based on a 12th Century Persian poem'Mantaq-ut-Tayr' by Sufi poet Fariduddin Attar.
30th December, Wednesday, 12pm and 4pm: GROWING UP, directed by Trishla Patel.
About the play: A frank and entertaining play on puberty, which tackles the subject in a fun and positive way, paving the way for parents to start discussions on this topic.
31st December, Thursday, 12pm and 4pm: TUNNI KI KAHANI, directed by Gopal Dutt.
About the play: Tunni , a girl with an overactive imagination escapes into the kingdom of colours using the book as a portal . Thus begins the story of Tunni and her adventures. She befriends a lion, fights and destroys the queen of pollution and sings a song to an old wise tree. She also makes two friends for life, Harry and Laali.
1ST January, Friday, 12pm and 4pm: GULABO AND PARIZAAD, directed by Shaili Sathyu.
About the play: Gulabo aur Parizaad is a play about a little mouse and a parizaad (elf). It is based on three Urdu stories by Begum Qudsia Zaidi. How do you make friends with someone who is most unlike you? Getting to know this new person can be funny and strange, all at the same time. The Parizaad shares his stories from across the world and takes Gulabo on a wonderful journey. They become friends and finally part ways.
2nd January, Saturday, 12pm and 4pm: IMLI, PAPITA AUR TARBOOZ, directed by Makarand Deshpande.
About the play: Imli, Papita and Tarbuz come from a small town to Mumbai to spend holidays with their cousins, Sunny (Sunil) & Riric (Rajeshwari ). The play is a funny and emotional take on cousins and their relationships.
3nd January, Sunday, 12pm and 4pm: NUCLEAR SHER, directed by Salim Arif
About the play: Adapted from the fables of Panchtantra by Gulzar Saab, the play is a show for children as well as adults.

- Imagination and story-telling with games conducted by Om Katare, 9am to 11am - Story snails and tornado tales by Lovleen Misra, 10am to 12pm - Creating narrative - play with props conducted by Salim Arif and Lubna Salim, 11:30am to 1:30pm - Wonder Child by Makarand Deshpande, 2pm to 4pm - Capoeira conducted by Sucuri, 4:3pm to 5:30pm
