AKVarious Productions will stage a comedic version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's highly feted thriller novel The Hound of the Baskervilles on May 9 and 10 at the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre, NCPA. This is the fourth play in the Aditya Birla Group's Aadyam initiative to be staged this year.
Aadyam, an initiative by the Aditya Birla Group, is bringing 5 new plays from reputed theatre groups to coveted venues in Mumbai and Delhi.
"The classic Sherlock Holmes mystery has inspired many versions for the stage and screen over the years, but this adaptation by Steven Canny and John Nicholson is the first funny take on the original that I have come across", says Akash Khurana who has directed the play.
For those familiar with the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, this rendition will offer a humorous perspective to the text and for those totally unfamiliar with the text, it will still make for a fun filled evening at the theatre", assures Khurana.
Aadyam has so far staged THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, THE SIDDHUS OF UPPER JUHU and MERE PIYA GAYE RANGOON.
Directed by Akash Khurana Cast: Arghya Lahiri, Vivek Madan, Karan Pandit, Rytasha Rathore, Vivaan Shah and others.
