Astitva Presents 'Kalpana Ek Aavishkaar Anek'...A Marathi One Act Play Competition...

'Kalpana Ek Aavishkaar Anek' is now celebrating its silver jubilee. The competition in its 25th year, has been a stepping stone for many theatre groups all over Maharashtra. It is primarily an opportunity for writers to display their talent. The focus is not on winning trophies and the plays in this competition are encouraged to stay away from cliches.
The One Act Play competition in Marathi will be conducted in October 2011. The competition has built a reputation for itself and as its title suggests, is based on a theme suggested by an eminent theatre person. Participating writers have to keep the select theme in mind while writing their scripts.
'Kalpana Ek Avishkaar Anek's' yesteryear concepts/thoughts have been suggested by famous personalities such as Narayan Surve, theatre person Vijaya Mehta, actor Shri Ram Lagoo, story writer Bharat Saasne, playwright Satish Alekar and others.
For the year 2011, the concept has been suggested by eminent playwright Girish Karnad.
The competition demands an original script, which revolves around the theme. In this way the competition seeks to encourage new and budding playwrights. The theme for this year's competition is:
Kalpana : "Sanganak Yugaatlee Premkatha" ( " A Computer Age Love Story")
Details of the competition: The said competition will be held in 2 rounds; Elimination round and the Final round.
